Player Mechanics

Meat ™
  • Meatman expends Meat in order to perform combat and movement abilities, decreasing Meatman’s size
  • Rolling along the ground replenishes Meat, increasing Meatman’s size
  • Ground Slam Bounce also replenishes Meat
Meateor Strike
  • Hold L2 to begin charging and release to launch Meatman forward
  • Releasing at the optimal time will give Meatman an extra boost
  • If there is a Target in range (indicated by the green targeting arrow), Meatman will launch towards the Target instead of the current facing direction. This can be chained with multiple Targets
Ground Slam and Bounce
  • Hold X while in air send Meatman plummeting towards the ground
  • Continue holding X when making contact with the ground in order to perform the Ground Slam
  • Release X just before touching the ground to perform the Ground Bounce
  • This can be chained in order to continue bouncing
Glide
  • Press while in the air in order to start Gliding
  • When Gliding, Meatman will slowly float toward the ground, directed by the Left (Move) Stick
  • Press to cancel Glide
Roll
  • Press L1 to start Rolling
  • While Rolling, Meatman uses gravity to roll on slopes and gain momentum
  • Rolling along the ground replenishes Meat
Clump Throw
  • Holding R2 will begin charging a Clump Throw
  • Holding the button for longer will generate a stronger throw (there is a max charge)
  • If there is a Target in range (indicated by a floating green arrow), Meatman will throw the Clump at the Target
Attraction Interaction
  • Hitting a Target (indicated by a floating green arrow) with the Clump Throw, Meateor Strike or the Ground Slam will cause their Event to trigger
  • Successfully completing an Event will grant you a Token the first time you do so

A note from the developers

This is a demo of what was supposed to be a much larger game. After over a year of development (twice as long as we wanted to spend on it), and many pivots (some of which completely changed the game), we decided we needed to take a break from the project. This demo is meant to showcase the part of the game that had the most hours put into it (and ended up being good), the movement mechanics. Please enjoy.

Is this a Whole Plot Reference to the meat circus?

Hey! Actually, none of us have played Psychonauts before but after watching the video you linked, I can see why one could think so haha.
